New Purchases:

The club has decided to take the big step and purchase a brand spanking new Anphelion Base from Forgeworld! Here is the link http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/anphelionbase.htm

By the time the delivery arrives, and the committee members paint it and build it should be available for play some time in February! You will only be able to play using the Anphelion Base on the Premium Table (see below).

New Policies:

The committee table will now be the "Premium Table". You can only play on the Premium Table if you have a fully painted army (meaning minimum 3 colours, based etc - though if you are clearly trying to shortcut the rules and spirit of what we mean by fully painted, a committee member can just rule otherwise). Premium scenery will also be provided, which will be much higher quality than the existing scenery at the club.

You will be able to reserve to play on the premium table normally in the challenges thread, but if more than 1 set of players want to play on the Premium table, then we will devise a clever system to make everybody happy - stay tuned! In addition if this happens regularly, we will expand the premium table concept. In addition we might also make Apocalypse games fully painted wysiwyg as well in the future.

New Events:

* We are going to organize more Apocalypse games given the success these seem to be having. We might also do other "narrative" Apocalypse games with custom scenery and with one game having an effect on the next, similar to the ones in White Dwarf.

* We are bringing back the "Game of the Week" concept, where we will run an intro style game where people who have no miniatures and/or are interested can watch/play/learn a new game. We are going to start with AERONAUTICA IMPERIALIS sometime in January.

* We are going to organize a club tournament for those of us who are competitively inclined. We are still discussing the format, but one of the ideas floating around is using a privateer press style list selection, where you play the tournament with 2 lists, and decide at the time of the match which of the 2 lists to use. More details will be forthcoming!
That's really excellent news regarding the base: Chris mentioned this a while ago and I've been very excited about it's possible arrival since. I have the rules somewhere if you'd like a copy for the club?

Would games be played using the IA rules, standard 40k rules, or would that be discretionary? The only reason that I really ask is that the Anphelion rules favour smaller forces, which would make it easier for people to get a game... (especially those of us that paint slowly).
Sod playing on it i just want to inspect it (Even in pieces. In fact, preferably in pieces.)
That makes two of us.. Tongue
Oooh shiny! Looks like it'd be good for some interesting Necromunda games
