Full Version: The Bell & Compass is a PUB!

For those of us who weren't around at about 7:30 last tuesday:

The pub has asked us, entirely reasonably, NOT to bring food or drink onto their premises, unless you bought it from them.
They are a business and a pub, not a just place for us to meet and have fun.
Please treat it like you would any other pub.

If you can't afford their (to be honest, quite good... I paid £4 for a coke in a pub in Dulwich the other day...) prices, please leave your cheaper drinks/food outside, in a bin.

Thanks,
-Tom.

Hopefully in keeping with the spirit of this, I will make a personal commitment that if I lose a game my opponent the following week will be guaranteed a drink and a bowl of chips from me!
Sounds fair, for me personally I eat before I arrive, simply because I don't like eating while I'm playing, but I always buy at least one drink while I'm there.
The do Budvar. Now that's a solid beer! Big Grin
V: So when I beat you next I can look forward to chips?! RESULT! Smile
Do they have any good ales? Smile
A couple, but don't expect too much. It's a central London pub after all, meaning they're catering to the after-work secretary crowd rather than the Gaming Club CAMRA crowd. Smile
Well any ale is better than nothing. So long as I don't have to drink Fosters Undecided
There are some cracking ale pubs in central London btw... went to one after Plaza veterans night on Thursday which was serving Doombar Smile mmm
Oh yeah. I like ale Wink

Unfortunately it's not packed with secrataries, or i'd spend very little time gaming.
