Yeah I'm really interested in the classical era of things. I've heard the Macedonians are pretty lethal... not much can break up the pike formations I guess! Also heard Romans are very underpowered, esp against pikes. But then they did have some pretty significant losses to pike formations in reality, so it makes sense really.
I'm waiting for wayland games to update their roman legion boxed set, it's got a nice load of troops in there to start a decent sized force with, and it's a lot cheaper than metal models, they are well sculpted too.

The dark ages interests me a lot, scots and irish list is in the arthur book, but you can also use romans for that too, being that was right at the end of the empire days. Normans and anglo-saxons would be fun to play matched up lol... But I think I will stick to one army at a time for now! Big Grin

I'll let you all know how I'm going with these, no doubt I'll do a project log of it all coming together.
I've just read that it's not a good idea to buy minis from these guys:

A lot of people have had issues with them not delivering and just keeping the money. Apparently they lost their right to sell and continued anyway, they are currently being investigated according to the WAB forums.
Just thought I'd mention this in case anyone considered buying from them. I would avoid them, shame really as the minis are pretty decent.
Hi guys,

sorry to commit threadromancy, but am new here and have just spotted this. I'm currently working overseas temporarily, but hope to join the club in December.

I've got a Celtic army for WAB, which can be adapted to 3 different periods, so if anyone wants to play a game in a few months then I'd definitely be up for a game or two.
I have a greek phalanx from Immortal minis so far and that is it... but I think Ian (sonsofmagnus) also has an army for WAB. It's definitely something I could see myself getting into after I've completed my space marines and high elves. But that won't for for at least a year.
I may get round to putting the rest of my romans together (oh and getting the new rule book ) by thenTongue
