What's your preferred carry case? I need something with a shoulder/chest strap and something large enough to carry tanks and infantry, but not too bulky/heavy.

Any recommendations?

As recommended by Thomas to me a couple of months ago.
Feldherr Backpack Carrycase. I travel a lot, and its proven to be invaluable. It fits in a crazy number of models, books etc and can be worn over the shoulder.
I've one of the KR Multicase Aquilas, and it's very good. Maybe you're right.
The premier cases are made by Battlefoam, but be warned they're pretty pricey.

Do you have one?
The cases look pretty Gay but the foam is AWESOME, I ask because I dont know whether to buy their case or just stuff there foam in a better case,
I prefer the backpack style to shoulder strap (I use GW Tactical pack at the mo) and don't like the look of there backpack it looks terrible all square and pointy! I will look at others but for now think I will go with 2 GW cases with Battle foam guts and in the GW Tactical pack (that is as soon as I get A wedge of cash, resist buying more minis, and convince the wife that Its good to spend lots of money on "sponge" to protect my "little bits of plastic!!)
No I don't, but I'm looking for an excuse Big Grin. I personally like the look of their cases as they appear super compact, but if your happy with the cases you have then no bother. Though at the price point of getting two cases worth of foam it maybe a better deal to invest in a case, just a thought. Good luck with the foam charity fund!
I got mine at Gameslore, roughly the same as KR but without the boxes inside...

Got this from Daryl who runs KR

By the way IMHO the KR cases are the best out there. I've been doing this for neraly 30 years now and gone through various cases.

Quote:Hi,
As a previous customer I would like to let you know about new products and changes to the KR Multicase website.
After many requests we have extended the Kaiser range and it is now available in BLACK. You can find details on our site along with an increased range of the Aquilla - which now in alternate versions is able to carry upto 80 figures and includes an internal zipped pocket, a handle and a detachable shoulder strap.

We have a great launch offer on the Black Kaiser too. Any black Kaisers ordered during July will get a free additional KR Multicase with it (see site for T&C), and as ever you can choose exactly which trays you want in the cases!
Additionally the site has been updated to include a triple size aluminium case and a range of accessories. This includes an aluminium dice/tape/template case which has a removable lid to use on the gaming table for rolling your dice in, the edges of which prevent dice from rolling into figures/off the gaming table.
If you have received this email in error or wish to be taken off our mailing list let me know by return and I will remove you from the list, if so please accept my apologies. We only send out information approximately once per year when we have major additions or offers.

Kind regards
Daryl

Just to reinforce what people are saying, KR cases are good. Well priced, excellent foam options and great customer service. I have three KR cases now (covering seven card cases) and I love em.

My only slight issue is that the foam does seem to stick to some of the sharp points on my models, leaving me to pick off tiny blue bits from some of my figs, but less spikey models than the cryx shouldn't have this issue.

I've sold off all my other cases for KR now.
KR it is, then, gents!
Plus KR is nicely modular, so foam/cardboard/flightcases can all be re-jiggled as your army grows...good for us small army owners!
Prices for bags and boxes include foam, you specify when you order.

Personally I have 3 cardboard boxes, then a non gaming rucsac bought to fit.
