Does anyone know if the Space Wolves have any successor chapters? I don't know my fluff well enough to remember whether they were a founder legion or not.

The reason I ask is that I'm quite tempted to start a Space Wolves army instead of my current (stalled) Mentors chapter. I don't like the baby blue / grey look of the Wolves' armour though. If they have any successors then it would be easy enough just to pick a colour scheme I like and wack on a few wolf pelts!

I generally like marines, but have become a bit bored with the one-dimensional rhino/drop pod, get out, rapid fire, hope not to get assaulted, repeat, play style. I think an assault-based marine army with some of their own USRs might be more fun, and it would keep me occupied until the new Dark Eldar book comes out (in 2047).

The Space Wolves were one of the twenty Space Marine Legions, being led by their Primarch Leman Russ. After the Horus Heresy and the resultant reforms, the legion was divided into two chapters: the new Space Wolves chapter retained the name of their parent Legion, while the second chapter took on the name of the Wolf Brothers. The latter however suffered from mutation and was disbanded. It is currently unknown if there are any other descendant chapter(s) of the Space Wolves at all.

If you take A stroll though bolterandchainsword you can find allot of people who use a darker, pure grey instead of blue grey as done by GW. I used to paint mine pure grey just lightening up from a black undercoat and it looked great especially when I painted the yellow shoulder pads it really popped!

BTW how do you Disband A chapter of marines, they arnt exactly a group of hoodies being a nuisance outside an news agents are they?

Easy, the local order of sister turns up and the monstory and removes them from existance, there fleet is given the choice of surrender or obbliteraton from the IN. (being marines they will refuse - only the officers know that they fired on Marines).... all record of them is then removed from Terra
