With the release of 8th edition round the corner, I've been looking at my Nurgle list, and as I've not played Fantasy in years, I wondered if you had some advice for me... It's my 2.5k list,

Anywhere, here's the list:

Exalted Sorcerer - Lvl.4, Mark of Nurg'l, Filth Mace, Death's Head, Chaos Armour, Dispell Scroll
Exalted Champion - Grt Wpn, Mark of Nurg'l, Skinhidden Plate, Chaos Steed
Hutuk N'ke - Lvl2 Sorcerer, Mark of Nurg'l, Spell Familiar, Dispell Scroll, Chaos Armour
Stabb the Acolyte, Sorcerer - Mark of Nurg'l, Chaos Armour

14 Marauders - Full Command, HWpns, Shields, LtArmour
14 Marauders - Full Command, Flails, Lt.Armour
21 Marauders - Full Command, Flails, Lt.Armour

5 Marauder Horsemen - Full Command, Flails
5 Marauder Horsemen - Full Command, Flails
6 Knights of Chaos - Mk Nurgl, Chaos Armour, Wpns, Sheilds, Barding

2 Chariots - Mark of Nurg'l

5 Nurgling Bases
2 Spawn of Nurgle - Mark Nurgl

Under the 6th ed. rules, I could take Nurglings, I know they're not in the current list, but I wanted to keep them in anyway, so just overlook those. Does everything else look like it'd make a solid list, though? The Marauders would each be led by the three Sorcerers, whilst the Knights would be led by the Exalted champion. Also, this list used to come in at 2.5k, now I've got 127 points left over to spend - any idea what I should use it on?
You should definitely post it on the Warhammer Forum

They are very helpful with anything like your request.
I'm not sure about those marauders and there set up, also more chaos knights would never hurt Smile
True, although 7 is the magic number of Nurgle.

Hi Pete!

if only you could have 7 units of knights!
Actually! I need to get three more units in so Nurgle is satisfied.

Maybe two units of hounds and a Warshrine.

7 units of 7 Knights would be awesome.
3 units of 7 maruder horsemen.

4 units of 7 Knights.

Close as having 7 units of knights....

The advice is a bit irrelevent as you can't take the nuglings in the list! Smile
Actually, on that point: would you really object to a block of 5 nurglings in a list now that they've been moved from the army book? Is it that big a deal (using the rules from the previous book)?
I wouldn't have a problem with that. If your whole force has been themed around nurgle and it's a friendly game, I think some nurglings would be a wonderful addition. Add some real character to the game. BTW, the only games I play are friendlies, even if I wanted to go to a tournement, I am happy down the bottom tables.
I just think its a bit strange to have them their with no other demonic presence. If you were using a Deamon Prince of Nurgle, then fair enough I could understand they inclusion, otherwise I wouldn't get it (apart from the "we are all nurgle" thing, fluff wise it doesn't work).

I think their are ways of keeping the theme whilst using legal lists. Just my opinion.
Hmm, well, Nurglings, being as small as they are, manifest easily in the world - like small pimples on the ground. It's their duty to cause mischief - like spoil milk, cause headaches, ruin wells and spread minor infections to livestock and citizens of the Old World. They're not quite the incursive daemonic force that daemon princes or plaguebearers represent, and they were traditionally always gifted to Nurgle champions (man or beast) as noisy, troublesome pets. Although, I am basing this largely on fluff from The Lost and The Damned and their position may have changed slightly in later fluff.
I don't care about fluff or theme, just how much fun it is to play. To that end I'd have no problem with Nurglings, as I always liked the Hordes/Chaos idea of crossover lists. However, only in a non-competitive context. Also, I'd definitely object to using the old version of the rules, you'd need to use them as per the current DoC army book. Otherwise it just gets too confusing for your opponent as to what is what.
Hmm, I suppose that would make more sense.

You know, I think the splitting of the Chaos lists was one of the worst things to happen to the Warhammer IP.
I use to love the joint lists. DoC lists were strong but not overpowered in the mix lists, its a shame as I had to build 2 armies instead of the one after the split.
