Hi.

Does anyone play these games or others like them? Samurai and katana, or shadows over camelot?
I'm trying to find people who do or are interested in trying them out.

Look forward to hearing from you!

Craig.
I am playing this type of games and interested in playing more often. I have a significant collection... in Germany, but can bring some games over (I commute every weekend). Currently, I have "Chaos in the Old World" here in London.

BTW, I am also interested in light CoSims (like Combat Commander, Conflict of Heroes, etc...)
I play a number of different board games, though none of those listed.
My favourites are Settlers of Catan, Carcassonne, Ticket to Ride, Diplomacy and Risk.
Would anyone be interested in having a get-together sometime to try a few of these out?

Craig.
Hey Craig, I'm sure I sent you a text on this but just in case, Im going to be holding a regular, once a fortnight, meet to play board games and have already got quite a few names down (yours included Tongue) it wont start for a few months yet but the good news is I have just discovered my loft is HUGE so will be converting it to a full time games room!!

Yes, definitely.
I'm playing regularly a bunch of them, including struggle of empires, imperial, cosmic encounter, chaos in the old world, carcassone, etc.
Arkham Horror is amazing even if you don't use any of the huge expansions for it. Hell, me and a mate played it for the first time against GODDAMN Hastur. The game was long.... but fun. Big Grin

I've had hilarious times with Risk Godstorm. Sinking Atlantis never felt so good. Mmmmm....

War for Edath was awesome but not really a multiplayer game but give it a try.

So in short I'll be well up for boardgaming. Big Grin
Hi, I am new to the club (so far, one game...but I won !) and I am really keen on playing Warrior Knights, Invasion, CITOW, Risk 2210, Horus Heresy, Dominion, anything really. I like Warhammer, but I think my first love is probably board games more than war (although I am about to buy my first Field of Glory army, to play some crusaders...what can I say, Medieval Total War got me !!)

Can we reserve a table to play like the rest, use a regular pub table, or arrange to meet in Edsmasha's loft ?!
Ahhh. Medieval 2: Total War, now that is an awesome game. I'm currently playing through Empire: Total War as the Swedes (too easy as the Brits). I like that too, but it was very flawed on first release, unlike the medieval series, which was a lot more polished on release (well, for a start the AI was able to make landings from sea!!!).

Not played many board games to be honest, but I'm always up for something new, I wouldn't mind trying the horus heresy game sometime.

Gareth was talking about starting up a warhammer quest campaign sometime in the future too, that was an awesome game, and kinda board game-esque. That could make for some fun times at the club, and wouldn't require a lot of space at all.
Hey all, great to meet you guys again tonight. Just poking around to get the lay of the land before coming along next week. I am definitely sure we made the right call to move, I can see myself playing upstairs in the back lounge as easily as I can downstairs, at least for card games.

Which brings me on nicely to next week...I have and am eager to play Dominion, Warrior Knights, Invasion, Talisman and Chaos in the Old World. If anyone has any preferences, let me know, but otherwise I'll bring Warrior Knights along and trawl for players, and Invasion because if nobody wants to play WK, Invasion only needs two players !!

Cheers
Iain
Warhammer Invasion rocks. As does Chaos in the Old World.

I'm something of a boardgame collector/player myself and could quite conceivably enjoy a card/boardgame first and then have a late session tabletop mini game afterward. I got Incursion recently and would love to give that a go. It ties in to Secrets of the Third Reich so is not entirely unrelated for the club. It even has some rather nice minis available for it.
Oh yeah, and Privateer Press's Grind too. I got that for Christmas and have yet to play it Sad
Max, do you want a copy of Risk Godstorm? I'll hand it over for a pint if you want?
There's now a few Magic Players around the club (me, mazberry and dezul (currently in australia for a month or so)) if you want "those" card games

Ooh, tempted. Thanks for the offer but I'll have to decline as I'm already in the process of trying to clear space in our small flat - which is rapidly filling with wargaming detritus!

It's a really good Risk variant though.
Would that offer be open? Id love a copy cos as soon as I get my loft done (bloody wife wants the rest of the flat done first Sad) ill be hosting a bit of a games night and want to increase my collection for then!
Yes it is. Big Grin

Name your price. Big Grin
I think ill be down on tuesday (with the new boards I hope Cool ) and can get you suitably drunk in exchange Angel
Awesometastic. Big Grin

See you then. Big Grin

Hey Iain, I'd be keen on joining in on some boardgames too sometime. Got some of my own (like Settlers w multiple expansions, Agricola, Imperial 2030, RoboRally). Let me know if you guys need an extra player... Smile
