OK this forum is for the development of the ideas outlined
Here
If you know of any scenery, have seen something that fits with one of the themes done well by someone else or have any ideas of your own that we can use, then post them up in the relevant thread!
The ideal format for this would be an image link generating a thumbnail + a URL link to the website
Each table has its own thread and I have amalgamated the concepts generated so far
If anyone has any other ideas for an overall table theme please let us know.
Right, with a bit of rejigging I have got the tables down to 10 options.
No. 10 being the ice table which would be a challenge to make and we can think about for a later date perhaps.

How are we going to plan the building of these tables, Chris?
I'm right in thinking that Paul is currently building the tables themselves at the minute, isn't he? What should we do about the scenery? Work on one table all together and get it completed? Or perhaps opt into working on one set of scenery with a small group of other people to get all tables up to standard at the same time?
As I am aware chriss runs scenery night now and then to get that done, but i have been kidnaping him alot to get bits and bobs for the boards and he is helping me hinge up tomoz so the sceanery has been on hold. He is going to see what he can pick up from Salute today. I will be offering my services to construct some scenery so if your up for painting that would be cool cos im not great at that, sceanery night will prob be back on soon too.
btw dont you have a RPG to GM?? few missions to write and a night to arrange???? I got some dice today and everything

Haha! Yes, I'm on it, don't worry!
I want to build a board! Commission me to build a board! It'd be awesome.
You can come play with them tomorrow if you like!
BTW we are keeping the terrain very simple, Functional rather then pretty, less wobbly model syndrome!
This might be too late or even just a bad idea, but why don't we stick silicone and flock mats on the tables? They look as good as the tables we have now, but don't scratch the minis if you knock them over / they wobble themselves down. You can get them in every different sizes, 2 4'x3' would be perfect for the folded tables.

Too late lol
We decided against the flocked mats as we wanted long lasting and beer proof tables! the texture we have gone for is very slight, nothing like the tables we have now and its weather proof! also revisions to scenery should reduce model falls.
Bit like the GW gaming boards?
If a model has been properly varnished up they shouldn't chip just by falling over from standing.
The current boards texture would take the skin off an elephant never mind the paint of a mini! the issue re 40k was drops off of high terrain and WH players problem was as you slide the movement tray it could catch on the texture and flip the front row off the tray!
Yeah... the new boards tho... are they like the GW boards in texture? Also, when will they be due to make an appearance?
If help is needed to get them finished up I can always contribute to any hobby get togethers. Got a shed load of bits and bobs that would make awesome scenery too.
We used textured masonry paint so its a very fine sand finish I've not seen the GW boards to compare. The boards are 80% done just got the edging to put on which is unfortunately a long time consuming task! you can defo help when we get back onto scenery though, Chris will probably start running scenery night once a week again when the boards are rapped up. I will have the boards done for when Chris gets back to the UK in approx 10 days, they will be ready before that but ill wait for him before I deliver.
So I'm back from Poland and brought some of the terrain I once did for myself (some need to be finished as I stopped any work on them when I went to uni). I'd be happy to donate it to the club, but as the terrain is bit gentle (it has MDF board as a base, but then some pieces are in balsa wood and those break quite easily) it needs to be stored carefully. It looks nice enough (better then some of terrain we have) to include it in our games (I don't know what level are premium tables, so maybe they can fit there). I'll bring some pieces in and comitee can judge if they are good enough. It's not much (five or six pieces) as it was all I could put into plane.
They were done with Empire in Flames setting for Mordheim, so will easily fit WM/H, Malifaux, WFB and even WH40k. Kinda like forest enclave table.
Thank you for the donations. I will have a look when I get down the club. If they are fragile though I think we might not use them since they are going to be knocked about quite a lot. We had some balsa & carboard Wild West Buildings and those have been trashed really.
I'll bring the thoughest of them then.

It's not to good for me to keep them at my place (lack of space and missus gets angry).

Lovely, look at those walls and the toilet! Seriously though, that's some pretty gorgeous stuff right there. I tried out terrain of a similar bent and it's really nice to build and use.
Looks pretty cool, like the Zulu set
