How much does a single clan rat with shield and spear cost?
5pts.
new rules are fantastic, but I'm keen to play bigger games either 2400, or 3000, so I can fit in horde regiments does anyone play these size games?
Isn't the new rule book looking to set 3,000pts as the standard?
the book suggests that 2000-3000 takes an afternoon. 3000+ can be a legendry battle with combined armies and allies including rules for trustworthy allies, etc... it also has a section on campaigns, a shed load more common magic items etc, but my dark elves don't quite fit the army selection so I want to go beyond 2k to make it all fit
I guess we will need to work out fairly quickly what points level can be set up, played and then packed away in 2 1/2hrs so we know what level we should set as the limit for club games and people know what they should be aiming for.
Personally I don't want to go higher then 2000pts WH is already working out dearer than 40k and if the club average is much higher id rather spend my money on... Infinity, Malifaux, 40k Orks, Forge World Orks Board games, PC Games, Beer and strippers!
WHFB is cool but I cant be arsed collecting and painting hundreds of minis to gather an army that will take at least a year at 2000pts more like 18months at 3000pts to get to battle size! my cash is split betwixt game systems as it is, not to mention all the non game mini's I buy "cos they are cool".
Btw I think the club should aim to set its game size at what ever GW will call the "Norm" ie what ever size the GT is played at, that way our armies will be of more use "out of club" and at said GTs ect This may mean I drop out of the Tale of "x" but I don't want an army I cant play anywhere at a respected size, you may say "hey most people will down size" but I know they don't want to, I try now and then to get games of 40k at 500pts at the club (for speed and to be different) and my challenges go ignored. GW will announce their new tourney rules soon, I prey for 2000pts!

I love big games of WHFB, and now with the Hordes rule I will be looking to try out *massive* rat blocks!

However time is the factor. When the new rules come out will probably be a matter of starting with 2000 and seeing how long it takes.

On a side note I'm also going to try and magnetise all my Skaven onto trays, so I can play them out of the bag. Pulling out 200+ models every game is very time consuming!
