Same here, I'm rubbish. And I cannot even blame the dice. ;_;
I always blame the dice (see title of my gaming blog). They are really rubbish and never earn their way. They just love being carted around from place to place and make you look bad.
Ok, Coalition of Gaming Chumps.
Ok, silly newbie question time, from London Bridge train station, which way is the venue? I know its a short distance, but i have no scooby doo's where to go!

I'll be getting off at London Bridge, so if you hang out at the taxi rank I'll show you. I should arrive about ten to six.

Cool beans. I think i know where im going now thanks to the internets, but ill wait for ya anyhows! Am going to try and pop into Orcs Nest on the way, depending on time.

Will see you soon!
Ok dude we forgot one thing, we've never met before!

I'm at lb station now by a taxi rank. If we don't meet in a few I'll head down to the club. I have a black jacket and black kr case , shaved head.
CGC does personals...
We could have a name that reflects where we are: there is an unmarked cemetery around the corner from the pub where 15000 prostitutes are buried. No kidding. How about the The Southwark Undead Whores. I'd love to see GW print that in the back of White Dwarf!
There used to be Bear Pits in Southwark too. The Bear Pit might not sound very inviting to new members though.
Crossed Bridge Gaming Club - combine the history of the club with the new location at the same time... Big Grin

how about "Chris Cross" (will make you Jump!) ... yeah, I really should've read the first page posts for cheesiness factor.

ok, so what about "Borough Bellators"
Hmm I think a name change is quite important now Cross did reflect location and as it no longer dose we just sound like the slightly angry games club Tongue
I think lose CGC altogether lets start fresh, new decade and all that cheese!

London bridge trolls is good as is London Bridge Warriors / Warmongers /Warhounds ect but that will end up LBW so the site may get mobbed by cricket fans (Do cricket fans Mob?)

BTW if you come up with a name google it just in case! its funny too!
LBT..Lutheran Bible Translators
LBW..Law 36 (Leg before wicket) - Laws - Laws of Cricket - (yes Laws of cricket not rules Tongue)
CGC...Certified Guaranty Company (Its a comic grading site?? dont ask Big Grin )

We should put a few names to a poll
I think definitely we want to keep Cross Gaming Club. I for one associate that with our club, and while the bell and compass was intolerable at the end, it is where it all started. I definitely want to be the CGC.
Poll it! I think as we are going through a lot of change, why not? I do love the old name too, esp the old logo, but we are near enough a whole new club anyway, lots of new faces, new venue, new games being played soon new boards (Im on that as I write this Tongue) and new terrain!
CGC is the name we have and feel it should stay. Has a history and idenity that , all though we are in a new venue, we still want to hold onto. I joined when it is was the CGC so has good memories in the name. Change has been great for the club of course but still need to connect with the past. (quick someone pass a tissue......)
As we all come from different parts of London (& surrounding counties Tongue)

The Cross-London Gamers Commune aka The CGC Tongue
I agree ( as already mentioned further up in this thread), we should stick to CGC.
Looked at with thinking cap on:
Website domain won't need to be changed.
Logo can stay.

And I do really like it...
Poll? Mmh... let committee decide, I'd say. They have to deal with it anyway.
informally of course CGC could be know as (St) Christophers Gaming Club -still keep CGC branding though
actually had a thought (yeah I know happens occasionally)

We could incorporate the old logo with a nod to the new venue by:

Original logo and then add a saint symbol above it - so would be a crux terminatus with a halo

Yes, but very politely. (And they polish their balls first.)

What do people think? Enough impetus for a name change for a poll?

You need a tissue while looking at a thread about undead prostitutes? Both hands on the keyboard now! No one-handed typing here please.

I really like this idea. Of course as I have the artistic talent of a mouldy dishcloth, we will again be reliant on the graphic design skills of someone else, but subject to that, gets my vote.
