OK guys, the members' poll re venue change is over, and after many hours poring over the entries, spoiled ballots, hanging chads etc, we have finally got a result. It was very close, but somehow I don't think this time we will be seeing any challenges in the Supreme Court ...

In favour of a move to St Christopher's Inn: 96.3%
In favour of staying at the Bell & Compass: 3.7%

Yeah, I was lying when I said it was close Wink

So, Charing Cross Gaming Club will now be based permanently in London Bridge. I think we'll probably rename the club CGC, but there will be a prize for anyone who can come up with a new name that reflects both old and new venues (a la Wimbledon becoming MK Dons). The prize will be either a big sloppy kiss from Luke (slut that he is) or a slightly used kipper. Depends how attached to the kipper I feel I am when it really comes down to it.

Anyway, we of the Committee (or the Cabal, as we were recently referred to, hence my latest name change) will be very pleased to see you all down at St Christopher's in the future. There's lots going on with new tables, terrain and work on the venue as well. As always, we want to know what you want, so keep your suggestions rolling in on the feedback and modelling sections. And as the man says, if you want to show your appreciation, don't throw flowers, just money.

huzzah for that! Now I need to work out a better way to travel back after the last bus has gone so I can drink later Big Grin
Cross London Gaming Club? CLGC?
Or The London Saints Gaming Club? LSGC?
Thanks for all the hard work (counting the votes over and over again) guys. Big Grin
I've got no money to throw, but I can use my bits box, just look out for the old xv88 and battletech parts...
ps. Don't forget to change the address on the website (not the forum, the other one).
Cant wait to see the new venue. Just 3 more weeks of uni left then 4 months of summer holidays !!
I would gladly put some money towards the new tables and I would also like to try my hand at making some stuff for the new tables. When I get back to london I also need to give you guys my member fee
Right now I am working on a Shrine to Khorne just for fun.

Every time you play at the club you put money towards the new tables and scenery! that's what the table fee is for Tongue
New name:

"LAW" - "London Association of Wargamers"

I have a cheesy name that i suggest the committee don't use: "Chris-Cross" ............(Vomit), can I also suggest we don't use "London Knights/nights" as it was a cheesy hit 80's song by the "london boys" that those of us older in years will remember

or What about something completely different:

"London Overlords" (a bit too similar to the Brighton Warlords possibly.....)

or for sh*ts and giggles:

"Established London Bridge Organisation of Wargamers" (ELBOW)
(which would be funny if we had a sister club "Association of Roleplayers in the South East" (ARSE) - (Arse and your ELBOW)
Greater London Underground Gamers (GLUG)
Wargamers Front of London

London Gamers Association

CGC (but we leave the first C for people to make up themselves)

The possibilities are endless
We should go for something catchy that encompasses lots of the games we play, like : Wizards of the Coast, or Games Workshop.
