Right I am looking for a new carrying case for my models.
Right now I have a old GW one which I brought just because I needed one fast.
It is pretty rubbish I find. Its annoying to carry and not to subtle with a massive eagle on it.
I find it does not really hold my minis that well had quite a few models break just on the way to a game. With my Ork horde getting bigger and a skaven horde on the horizen I need more space. I also see a problem using it with models that have spears as right now my chaos models cant even fit with a few spikes.

The claspes holding it together are a bit rubbish and I have found that they spring open somethings with just a small knock which is not great. Would hate for it to open on the tube or street or something and all my lovely models fall into the street.

Right now I am looking at a KR Double Aluminium case
http://www.krmulticase.co.uk/aluminiumdo...aseuk.html

It will cost me £60 but comes with a large selection of trays I can choose.

So I was wondering which cases do you guys use to transport your models ?
I just bought a KR case from Wayland, its AWESOME and suits my needs for my mini's.

Ill be transferring all my minis to KR cases over the next few months.
I am using Feldherr Mini and Mini Plus with different foam layers to suit.
Note, I am playing only small skirmish games and these cases are perfect for my needs.
That's what I'm using my kr case for, my skirmish game minis. You get 6 trays of 18 large sized cut outs, and 2 pick and pluck trays for larger models.

So in my case, I have trays for 6 skirmish games and enough room for larger models such as warjacks, cutters and warp wolves.
At the mo im sticking with GWs small cases combined with the tactical back pack I can get a 1750pts ork hoard in it no problem or even using my own foam creation several trukks, bikes BWs or dredds as needed, though it is a bit big on trains! I will soon be filling it with Battle foam to increase its capacity and because its far superior foam. all though I don't love battle foams own cases I will probably get one due to shear capacity.
I use a card KR case in a fabric transport case for my Warmachine but all my GW (infantry) figs are in GW cases - as to the subtlety of them I normaly put them in a hodall along with a shoe box of cav / monsters, rule books etc so isn't really an issue for me.
I <3 my KR. I have almost the same layout as Ravage described, but I have the 32mm deep trays as Malifaux minis are bigger then normal and they use 30mm bases. So there are 4 pre-cut 18 part trays and 2 thick raster trays for the bigger models in a standard alu case.
Planning to get a feldherr mini plus for infinty tho...
KR are so good. The way that you can customize the depth of the foam is awesome. I wish I had known this before the wife got me a GW case some time ago, as a Necron Monolith does not fit in one.
Well it seems KR are getting alot of good reviews. I emailed there site with my army build and the general models I would be taking and he was very helpful.
Told me which foam trays would be the best for my army and ones with space to expand my models.
Going to order one when I get back home today.
I have lots of KR - both cardboard and metal

Wont buy another GW one again.

KR metal one is the best. Phone them up to make the order - guy is in Colchesterwho sells them - he'll walk you through the types of trays you need - very useful.
I have three KR cases - a metal double and two smaller Aquila cases for skirmish games/Bloodbowl teams. They're very good, although I have trouble getting exactly the right foam to fit my miniatures as they tend to be a bit taller/wider/spikier than the compartments I've found so far. Still, they're a million times better than the GW cases.
I've just gone to the KR website and found that they now do custom trays for most 40k armies (fitting things like Drop Pods, Valkyries, Wave Serpents, etc).
I bought a few of those custom cut trays - the Valkyrie, the Basilisk and a few tank ones. They don't quite work for my tanks, like, for example, if you have a dozer blade on a tank, it doesn't fit. Or if you've anything which sticks up or out slightly, then they don't fit as they're cut very tight, which is a shame as they're a great idea.
I use Army transport from Sabol. Nicely customisable and now in modular flavours Smile
I have a couple of KR cases (one metal and one cardboard) and I like 'em. I shall probably get some more at some point.
Seems appropriate to resurrect this thread instead of starting a new one.

So, with Malifaux being my game of choice at the moment, I'm looking for a convenient way to carry fewer models about.

Anyone got any recommendations for a smaller carrying case to transport twenty odd models?
Ditto!

I've just converted over to KR for my new WoC army and will never go back to GW.

Was wondering what to do with Malifaux. Especially larger based things. Executioner (40mm) and Peacebringer (50mm) specifically.

Checked yesterday and KR said they were doing Malifaux bespoke cases, but there're no details yet. Interested to see what they come up with....

Cheers,

Dom
I think a half width case - to fit their half trays - would work quite nicely.

Actually I do have some of their half trays, I should check to see if I have any appropriately sized boxes.
well, I am undecided at the moment. I have a small case from Feldherr which is great for my infinity. It might not be big enough for my Malifaux though. I am tempted to get the Mini Plus, but I have a small case from Maplin which I could put KR foam in and have a hard case. decisions, decisions, decisions...

What base size are infnity bits on?

I was looking at one of these for my Malifaux stuff but was weary as they're only 25mm deep and Malifaux is 30mm minimum.

How deep is the base of the tray? I'd have thought there'd be adequate squish room, especially if you went top-to-toe on the separate levels but just wanted to clarify. A chop through the layers would work for the large spec stuff I'd have thought?

Cheers,

Dom
