Awww a personal gift on my birthday from GW. I'm touched! Big Grin
Oh God, I hope this movie isn't appalling...
Of course it won't be. Haven't you seen their last movie release, "Inquisitor". It'll be on the same level as "The adventures of wicket, Ewok Explorer" that well known and popular Star Wars spin-off release, In the mid 1980's.
I wait with baited breath for the feast of acting and spectacular plot.
Maybe they have as good a actor as Jason Statham, muffin the mule, or pinocchio

Its CGI this time so actors will include Bambi, T-Rex from TLBT and the fat controller as Horus
That Ewok spin off was a marvellous piece of artistic license, a strong contender for 'top film of all time'!

Cool. There may be slightly less wooden acting than Jason Statham

they are the best.... so it the trailer we show you a squad getting wiped out whilst looking around not firing Tongue
hmm I think I actually prefer the CGI cutscenes from the Dawn of War games...
It's of a better quality than I imagined, though. Hmm, fingers crossed!
Yea considering the boys behind the animation have a history of Lego films it could have been a lot worse!

I agree. I think the DOW intro really nailed the feel of WH40K. This just looks unfinished. Wasn't impressed by the facial animation either. They've got a good writer and a great cast, so I just hope they polish it up before it's released.
Relese Date confirmed as 29th November!

£25.99 for the LTD ed, jeez thats a piss take!
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT!!!!

I must contain myself! Very excited about this!
A friend got a copy for christmas. The extras are really sweet Smile

The film itself was really enjoyable. The animation was pretty crumby as I thought it would be but doesn't detract from the fact that this is still 40k in theatrical form. Bit predictable and a bit cheesy (it's smurfs so yeah whatever) but the action sequences are well done and the atmosphere is spot on. Would definitely recommend to anyone.
I really enjoyed it. The animation grates a bit to start but you do get used to it and then become engrossed in the atmosphere and story.

Could have been better, sure. But it could have been so much worse.
I watched it 3 times. Watched it once and than the same day again. It is superb I thought. For a 40K fan it a must see. Really good camera work. Yeah it low budget but at the end of it I was shouting "and they shall no no fear!" at the top of my lungs. Big Grin
I think you're being very generous! I've got to say I didn't rate it that highly! It was passable and could have been much worse but it wasn't anything special. I don't understand why they wont do a proper Hollywood style warhammer film. I've just finished reading the first Horus Heresy novel, that would make an amazing film, warhammer fan or not. Maybe they don't want to sell the rights to their IP?
Aye Jim, I know where your coming from.
Its weird though, I had prety low expectations, so when I saw it my feeling was hey its not as bad as I feared, however it didn't rock my world.
I'd keep picking out the problems I had with it but I wont get strated on that now.
I've watched it 3 times now and I enjoy it more and more with each viewing.
Starting to see the good points in it.

Not gonna type about it as I have to many thoughts and too little time but if anyone want a good debate on the failings/merits over a beer that would be cool as when I try and chat to the missus about it she just looks at me blankly.
