Ok, Caps Lock was stuck on so please excuse the title.
So, its about time I paid you chaps down at London Bridge some attention again. As mentioned in my early thread, its about time we test drove the new venue to see what it can handle.
We have the Hordes release event upcoming. Are you guys interested? Or we can do a steamroller type event, either is cool.
I will try to sort out some prize support from Dark Sphere and details will follow, but I need to know:
A: Hordes, Warmachine or mixed?
B: Tuesday night or weekend event?
C: How many tables can we realistically run in the new place? How many players does this mean? Bare minimum is 8 players, four tables. Can we wrangle that with the committee on a club night or not? Marcus, I will need to have a chat with you about all this.
Cheers guys.
Jon.
My view is the new venue is not big enough for a large tourney, but we can definitely get the same sort of event going that you guys ran at the B&C. Tuesday night is best for me; others may feel a weekend gives us more time.
I would love for there to be dedicated Hordes events rather than mixed. My experience has been that Hordes suffers a little against the wider model selection (and consequently greater range of face-rapage available) in WM. Ofc if this is dealt with in the new books, maybe the release event would be a good time for us dedicated Hordes players to get our own back!

A Hordes event would be greatly appreciated with the release of Hordes MK2. Off the top of my head with the I can think of seven Hordes players that have frequented the club in the past.
Andres - Skorne
Tom - Circle
Marcin - Circle
Oli - Legion
Nick - Circle
Sam - Legion
Bruno - Trolls
As Nick said, roughly the same size as the Bell and Compass. With more wiggle room and food space.
Cheers guys, some stuff to think about.
I am happy to go all hordes. Will put some stuff down and let you know once I have come up with a plan.
A four board, eight man tourney should be easily do-able.
Cheers.
Jon.
as far as the club goes we have two options. we can either do it tuesday evening and have two games on a table (so 3'x4'). This we can get for the evening, but obviously it is going to limit it to 35pts max. If it is going to be hordes only then it will probably not be much of a problem due to the prolferation of beasts.
The second option is to do it on a saturday or sunday. I have spoken with Matt and he is more than happy to have us in on either of these days. That would mean that you could use full size 4x4 tables and have them for the whole day, so less rush.
I don't mind mixed event, and honestly doubt I can win anything, so I'll just say weekend would be best for me as it gives more possible games.

Again, I'll vaguely say that I would try and make a weekend event, but can't make any promises...
-Tom.
Ok, the good thing about weekends is it takes a lot of the stress out of timings and upsetting the GW guys by nicking all the tables. Plus we can go bigger games and stop for lunch
So shall we say a 35pt Hordes event then? I'm still waiting for the details of the launch event for Hordes so this might change slightly, but we shall see.
What Saturdays in July are people free?
Well I would say the weekend after the world cup final. So possibly the weekend of the 18th/19th? I think this would give enough time for people to paint something up and, and there to be a best painted army contest

.
Thats my 2 cents.
For me any day is fine except weekend 30th July to1st of August as I'll be getting drunk watching Iron Maiden at Sonisphere.
