Not quite sure what Iraq and Afghanistan have to do with it... it's not like we have any scores to settle with them on the pitch, or that they are intrinsically linked.

Aren't they the last four nations we've been at war with?
I was just being daft.
Yeah I know

But you missed out Italy, Austria, Hungary, Romania, Finland, Thailand and all the other nations that were part of the 'axis' with whom we were at war with in WW2.
On a thread related note... COME ON JAPAN!!!

two freekicks. First should have been in safe hands, but the second was awesome

I thought it was funny.
FWIW.
Just to split hairs... we havent been at war since '45 .. all other conflicts have been armed emergencies or UN / NATO actions.
Does it bare talking about?!
Possibly the worst performance by an England side ever in a world cup final.
Terrible management, terrible performances. Just shit really.
Yeah sure we scored a 2nd goal, but then we didn't really score that one in 66 (the whole ball needs to cross the line - technology has laid this argument to rest), so it's karma coming back at us for Germany!
Yeah, it's been a pretty painful match for a variety of reasons. I mean, I know I said that Germany would own England but I expected a bit more a fight than this, all in all.
Argies look dangerous.
Though another case for the use of technology! Blatantly offside that first one lol!
Well, that's an hour and a half of my life I'm not getting back.
Dire, just dire.
I've seen that comment so many times today lol.

I quite enjoyed it, it proves me right about fabio.

Let me find my surpriseface, I'm sure it's around here somewhere
First 30 mins were just depressing, we had a decent spell until Germany remembered how much of a joke our defence is and decided to score a few times.
Also the logic to bring on Heskey when you're behind is just mind-numbing. Did that man even touch the ball?
