I've made myself a target over this weekend as I'm going to be in Norfolk.
Clean up and assemble my entire High Elves battalion set. That will be 16 spearmen (assembled as seaguard), 16 archers, 8 silver helms and a repeater bolt thrower. Sweet.
Also gonna look in the loft to see if I can find some more of my old minis. Sure I have more high elves about, I know I had the old plastics, they could be useful to bolster my force.

At least I can be proud that wasn't born in Norfolk... though I'm not too sure my hometown is that much better lol. Unless you like dockyards and fighting.

The more I think about playing 8th edition and writing an army list, the more I wish we'd made the points 2500 rather than 2000. I'm finding it very hard to squeeze all the new models into a list!

I'm completely out for this month. Away in Notts this weekend, pre-op stuff on 11th, Cheltenham the following weekend and then on the 19th I have my operation. I will see what I can do, but I doubt I will have my first unit painted by then (it's assembled at least).
I'll just have to do double for the next waypoint...
I am working on a hero for my army at the moment too, he is more of a tester for my scheme, but I'm sure I can incorporate him into the list somewhere.

I think I am going to make it.

I also finished up an Assassin on Monday. I found two old assassins in my bitz box and on Monday I got back from holiday. My GF was sleeping so could not watch TV so decided to paint one up. Very happy with the results and will paint the other one soon. Dont think it will count towards my 2000pt for the tale but please with it anyway.

If I have enough time will try and paint up the movement tray for my clanrats.
Will get a picture of my first 200 points soon.

Andy, that's cool - but if you get chance, start your blog and explain in brief why you didn't get your first 200pts done.

Been in Nottingham for a gaming forums meet up. Inspired, I shall paint this week
One slight issue I have noticed though... was looking at the Island of Blood set and it only has 10 seaguard in it rather than 20. Shame! Oh well, at least I will have more space for other things in my list now lol.
Though in a large game 50 seaguard with shields and full command ftw. 51 attacks striking first and 35 stand and shoot shots. Only way you can take it down is combining charges to negate those rank bonuses.

Sorry to disappoint you, but it's "only" 20 stand and shoot shots. You can't use volley fire in a stand and shoot reaction.

Oh well, that's still pretty good, better than nothing!
35 shooting attacks on a normal turn they don't move. Let's face it, such a big block of spears wants to be charged anyway.

Now, These are my starting hero's, and they were kind of testers for the paint scheme / skin etc. I'm still not decided on eyes, but i'll practice on boys first, maybe yellow (possible slit in the middle if i have the steady hand). The shaman's brown was a real nightmare, It's actually got about 6-7 different browns, before they're mixed. I'm also not too happy with his gums either, but sod it it's done i'll come back at the end if i'm still unhappy.

And coming over the horizon (after a botched attempt 1, so re-blacked)

Will post up mine tomorrow, just tried to take a photo but light is awful in my room in the evening. So will take some nice pictures tomorrow morning then get about planning my next 200pts, I think I see some Giant Hamster wheels being constructed in the Skryre forges.
