I was just wondering if people are interested in the idea of a Warhammer campaign a la Mighty Empires? I'd run it via the website rather than the tileset to ensure everyone could view the status, and it could be for any points value (1500+ is probably recommended). With new Warhammer round the corner, I'm itching to run an Isle of Woe campaign. It could run in tandem with the Tale of X project, as an incentive to keep painting. Anyway, just throwing shapes - let me know.
Sounds interesting, we could do it as the culmination of the tale of x gamers, but only painted armies may enter?

I sounds nice, problem is for ToXG some people (like me) won't have 1500pts to soon and the lowest limit for a game would be IMO 600pts for a very small game. That means it is possible to run it in conjunction with ToXG in about 3 months.

Two if one has some spare time to build/paint their army.
I'd love to take part, as campaigns are always good, but for 1000pts I need to do about 80-90 models and I'm not the fastest of painters.

Still if something comes out of this you can let me know.

Good luck!
Well they need not start out as painted armies. Players could feature unpainted units, and watch as through the campaign games the armies transform from plastic grey to Elves, Dwarves etc. Also as a carrot to promote painting, you offer a bonus to painted armies, such as some extra campaign points or in game bonuses.
Food for thought. I was thinking we could run something starting at 1000 points in September, moving to 1500 in October, finishing in the 1st/2nd week of November. 1500 points (unpainted) by October is 4 months so plenty of time.
This would open up the options for 2000+ campaign next year.
I would definitely be up for a Fantasy campaign, and Mighty Empires is a pretty good system. I agree it's worth waiting for some of the ToXG guys to get up to a decent size though as I'm not sure there are too many people with full-sized armies yet (although hopefully a few - im looking forward to playing Fantasy in July!). I think for games to work well in Fantasy 1500 is a reasonable minimum.
I like the sound of that. The smaller point games would help people (ie ME) to work out what they need to change in their armies due to edition change as well
I think there's no doubt the new system favours larger battles (2.5k probably going to be standard to ensure models survive the crazy magic and shooting rules) with rules such as Horde requiring massive units (well 30+). So if we use the Isle of Woe as an introduction to the new system, bringing us all up to speed then we can all marvel in titanic clashes next year.
I have 2k+ of 8 fantasy armies - you'll definitely get a game!
There's quite a few of us with 2/3K+ armies just all waiting for July before we (literally in my case) dust them off

Maybe if you could include Mordheim bands/mini campaign this could start off right away.

I'd be interested in a campaign to tie in with TofXG for sure.
yeah, my beastmen need a really good dust!
I think this would definitely work: we could always start with the first 400pts for small skirmish style games and build up from there.
In my experience Warhammer doesn't work below 1000 points and not properly before 1500+. You just have too few units to get the true enjoyment of the game.
Yes, that's true - it certainly wouldn't hold the same pull as larger games - although perhaps it might work if we treat the first part as a few starter games to get the hang of the new mechanics, I dunno?
I've found 1250 points to be good for smallish games
"Dust Dust Cough"
I found about 4,000 points. Skirmish anyone?
When I've finished this next mammoth session of dipping Skaven I'll easily be able to play against your 4000 points. However, for the sake of sanity perhaps we'll go with the regular infantry block version?

Yep, I need to paint hem in all fairness, so i'll be going at the same pace as everyone else
Im definately game for this if there will still be room to play other systems between rounds etc
I am interested, although I have no clue about 8th edition yet. I am waiting to actually read the rules...
