Any body have a clue on the base size for these blighters? Had a bit of an idea for a conversion.
Just hoping someone knows before I go trawling the internet to find out!
I'm pretty sure it's one of the unspecified base sizes. ie anything from 50x50, chariot or Plague Furnace size is probably OK. If it doesn't actually say so in the Army Book or FaQ then it's up to you when you model it.
Bear in mind there are some increasingly firm rumours that there's an HPA kit in the offing, possibly in the wave release around / just after Island of Blood.
What's your idea though?
I was thinking about adapting the giant kit with multiple rat ogre heads. Possibly some type of ratty tail, and... not too sure what else yet. Probably use the cloven hoof style feet, as they are kind of in keeping with the vermin lord model.
If anybody has any suggestions for owt else, please feel free to offer them up!
The base was specified in FAQ an it's 60x100mm (I know... why not just chariot base?). As Nick said - there are rumors about GW releasing HPA soon so maybe it's worth taking a hold on this one. If you have some spare money The 2 Black Dragons do HPA for mighty price of about 190 euro:

Looks nice, but bit to pricy for me.
I started mine based on trygon, but as I'm doing eshin and will use count as model, the conversion won't probably be finished ever. If you like the idea I can sell/trade the trygon half price maybe you can make some use of it.
PS: GW don't do any bases 60x100 ofc, but you can get war of the ring movement trays for few pounds and they are 60x90 for cavalry and 60x110 for infantry.
Oh OK, I didn't know it had been FaQed. GW do now do a 60x100 base, I think it's direct only from their site though you may be able to get it from any of the other online retailers.
It's my bad this time..

Indeed GW is selling screaming bell base now. It is 60x100 so fits HPA nicely (they didn't have it in offer when I was building mine).

That's fairly terrifying! I like that a great deal. Sinister.
I think I may hold off for a bit, see if there are any sneak peeks of the Workshop model before they release it. If I don't like that, then I will proceed with my conversion plans...
