I have enjoyed myself a lot so far, even though I've been caught out by the scenarios. I should have thought about practicing them before.
I haven't updated my blog yet but:

Game 1 - vs Rob and his Seaforge Commision. I didn't get quite as near to Gorten as I'd hoped. Zealots imploded (literaly) while holding a control point. Rob wins by scenario.

Game 2 - vs Andy and his Circle. We both caused a lot of pain to each other Andy was going to win by scenario but went for caster kill instead.

Game 3 - vs Dill and his Trollbloods. I didn't manage to cause a lot of damage but the Zealots took Madrak down to six points of damage before imploding again. Kreoss got Impaled by two Impalers.

Still, it has been great fun and I think I'll be kicking off against Khador today.
Second day was slightly better, but only just.

Game 4 - vs Tom and his pSorscha led Khador. Highlight was a battle of the character 'jacks which ended up with the a fully loaded Fire of Salvation taking out Beast 09 on Kreoss feat turn. Game ended in a draw.

Game 5 - vs Craig and his pMadrak led Trollbloods. A game to forget for me. Errants kept running away from Pygmie burrowing type things. Craig made a succesful string of seven (7) Tough rolls. and the Earthborn really tore through my line on the feat turn while Kreoss attracted the attention of a couple of Impalers yet again.

Game 6 - vs Dan and his Highborn Covenant. gaming fatigue kicked in big time and plans and combos went straight out the window. Dan was very kind by giving a pointer or two. Settled for a draw although I easily could have lost.

As a result, I have brought back to Wooden Spoon back to London. I did however miss out on 11th place by 800 or so points.
Did you have fun though?
That's kinda the thing that matters!

Also, learning about stuff you don't really see much in the Cross is always good, I find I've mostly forgotten how nasty trolls are in mk2, for instance.
Stupid Trolls.

-Tom.
It was great fun! I'll defo make the effort to go up there again. It's a great venue. As there were only 12 players it was a lot more relaxed and you could make out what was happening on the side of the room (Gary was telling me that the ETC generated a lot of noise with all the tables strecthing to the back of the room, so much so that you could hardly hear yourself think).

Also in my last game against Dan Melia, he was talking about how you might be able to do certain things within your own club/group but when you go somewhere else you realise that what you have been doing is not completely right. And you see differences in the way people think about things.
What I enjoyed most was seeing two different Mercenary forces. I have only played against Andre's Taloin Contract when I first got into WM last year, but no-one seems to be interested in them atm. I especially enjoyed playing against Rob's Seaforge Commission.
All I know now, is that I really have to get my head around the finer points of the Hordes mechanics.
True, that is why i always try to go to events as different people/clubs play things slihtly different and what works in one area doesn't work somewhere else.

Tournaments are all about the social side, the gamiong gets you together and i know that Gary knows how to run a event and make it a really good time. I was looking forward to propping up cardiff but my missus wants me at home this weekend.
