I guess we should probably write up an actual battle report next time!
Anyway, here are some quick pics from the game, which was a bit of a blood bath in the centre of the board. My Orcs just wanted to squabble constantly (especially the Big 'Uns who failed their animosity check three turns in a row!!!). Hoards and spears are nice though...

The tricksy Gobbos stand ready to take what they gotz coming to em! WAAAAAAAGH!

The Orc lines stand ready to rock and roll!

The boat chariot readies itself for a charge!

Alas the dice are low and the chariot charge fails! Crikey!

The spider riders charge the Orc chariot and wipe it out in one turn of combat

The Big 'Uns boss takes out the spider rider boss in single combat. A deft blow to the head with a choppa did the trick.

The spider riders struggle to keep the Big 'Uns at bay after losing their boss

The Black Orcs send the Gobbos running and are left rather stranded. They did survive quite a lot of combat though, and killed off the giant.

Watch out for that big fella! Bring im down! (Giant still stands despite all the spells and shooting directed at him).

Gareth is pretty handy with that airbrush...

Looks like a fun scrap! Nice photos too.
Sweet models! Smile
Those are all Gareth's, and indeed it is a top notch Orc and Goblin army (or divided in this case!).
I will be collecting High Elves for the challenge, so it will be interesting to see how they play in the new rules, especially considering that I haven't played the game properly since 4th edition lol!

Well I've heard that the "Always strike first" rule has become better in the new rules, so I believe that the High elf's are as strong as ever.
That's exactly the kind of thing I like to hear Big Grin
In true Elvish style, it seems High Elves are now a complete glass cannon army. ASF + higher initiative = a reroll to hit, which makes them devastating in combat. Of course they are also T3 and expensive, and hence extremely vulnerable to well.... everything. Potentially a very fun army to play!
Yeah, the T3 factor will always make it's mark. As will the fact I will always be outnumbered, but hey. Seaguard hoard here we go! Wink If they release plastic phoenix guard, I'd like to do that as a hoard lol
