I've been agonising a lot over what lists to take to OG Iron London 1. I had almost settled on pKrueger and eKrueger, before people last night convinced me it's the dumbest idea since buying (and painting, and believe it or not fielding) Cephalyx Overlords.

So, what do people think? Here are the options, vote above. I'm taking it semi-seriously, so please don't suggest Cassius.

eKrueger (Wake of Destruction theme) is my first list because it is such an awesome assassination list, can control beast or jack heavy lists well, and of course can take scenarios with the feat.

Choices of second warlock:

pKrueger. Because Vish is convinced there will be some insanely infantry-heavy lists I need to discourage. At 7 minute turns I'm just not sure. I can see the argument if this was a National-level tournament but in our meta, I honestly think everyone is bricking it over timed turns and just taking battlegroups plus support. If I'm wrong on this though, he is one of the best anti-infantry warlocks/warcasters in the game.

Kromac. Because he can smush face, amps up Stalkers so they can kill either heavies or infantry. Because he has anti-magic to make Cryx, Severius and the like weep salty bitter tears. Because he can assassinate himself or help his army do it, and is generally a good match up against Hordes, which eKrueger doesn't do so well.

eKaya. Because she does much the same as Kromac by running a battlegroup and making it better. She doesn't have WA or Warpath, and definitely struggles a bit against infantry. But she can have an all-stealth army which will make gunline players sad. As they deserve.

Due to the collapse of Malev airlines and my impending new job in Hungary, it is with great sadness that I am going to be moving cities at the end of March to somewhere with better transport links... Liverpool

Well not quite. Liverpool has pretty good plane links but since the ones I wanted no longer exist, it's a good excuse to move back to my ancestral home of car stealing, window breaking and football hooliganism.

I've really enjoyed the last 18 months or so at Cross. Before I moved to London in November 2010, I'd never played miniatures games seriously and the last year has been very awesome, from originally getting into WM, Ish teaching me Malifaux (and ending up with me being addicted and e-famous again), and Chris and the guys showing me the ropes of Infinity (which I fully intend to keep playing).

It's kind of strange to say, but the club really did factor into my decision of where I wanted to live (behind the more important factors of work, girlfriend's happiness and impending baby, of course... just so you don't think I'm a freak) and for that to happen means that the club must be awesome indeed.

I just hope Liverpool isn't the gaming wasteland it was when I left five years ago. I may well have to start a gaming club up there and teach them the ways of ultra-competitive Malifaux. I might call it..... "Cross Gaming Club (Liverpool Division)"

Hope to see you guys down at the club a few times in March when I'm not abroad.

Hey all, Jack H and myself are playing in the Friday night hardcore at Smogcon in a couple of weeks and this is my current thinking on the list. Please give me some feedback!

Supreme Archdomina Makeda
- Molik Khan
- Titan Gladiator
- Bronzeback Titan
- Cyclops Brute
- Aptimus Marketh

Full Nihilators
Full Beast Handlers
Min Farrow Bone Grinders
Orin Midwinter
Saxon Orrik
Swamp Gobbers

It's quite a departure from my usual SR list, mainly due to the fact the full swordsmen + UA take too long to activate in 7 min turns (vengeance + 22 attacks in the unit takes a loooong time to get the full potential from!). Therefore Nihalators will most likely be running to engage and filling Marketh on souls.

The Bone Grinders are new for me - I find that people are targeting the gladiator more and more because they've realised that Rush is such a massive part of the Skorne arsenal - the ability of the bum grinders to cast it if the gladiator dies has the potential to be huge. I think everything else is pretty straightforward - I could drop the bonegrinders, gobbers, and min the handlers to get an agoniser in with a 2nd min handler unit... But I doubt whether Mak can keep the agoniser full enough to be effective late game.

EDIT: Hmmm... Maybe an extoller is better than the grinders - eyeless sight on the Molik missile is awesome - plus magic weapons on the big man makes eDenny shit herself!!!

Thanks for looking!

There's a more in depth review over on my blog so I'd encourage you to check that out

But here are the charts and some key take-outs as I see 'em.
I think that last chart is the one that really tells some stories.

Of particular interest is the waning interest in 40K. The pickup in Malifaux and Infinity. Then look at the effect of the WM/H Slow Grow on Malifaux bookings.

Andy will no doubt be pleased with the rise and rise of Infinity!

Interesting reading, if you're a data geek like me

Welcome to the penultimate round of the Cross Slow Grow.

This round is played with a 35 point list

You may change your caster.

You may also change (10 points + your beast/warjack points of models) leaving 25 points of your models unchanged.

You may change your caster and not your models, your models but not your caster, both, or neither.

The scenario is: DIVERSION (#17 in SR2012)

SR2012

It's all radial and shit. I'll make sure that some control zones and some flags are available in the black box in the cupboard.

At this stage its worth reminding everyone that the league will be their proxy first round in the tournament. The top half in the league final scores counting as having won a game and the bottom half as having lost one. In the event of there being a large number of equal scores in the mid field, strength of schedule will be used to determine ranking amongst them. So you should keep an eye out for challenging match ups to boost your SoS.

Good luck everybody! Let new casters arise!

Hi everybody (no, not you Dr Nick), just wanted to let you know that the Clapham Wargamers are putting on their annual Warhammer tournament on March 31st. If you're interested (in a London based, 1 day 10am-6pm fantasy tournament) then check out the rules pack which has all the info you could ever want.
We're a friendly bunch, and it should be an enjoyable (and relatively cheap) day out with a chance to play Warhammer and even win stuff!

Summary: 2400 points (painted), £8*, 3 games, prizes, fun.

Rules pack (uses SCGT comp to stop any outrageous armies stomping you):
