infinately infinate infinity infinitives - or some more questions about infinity

The big change I've gone for is to stop playing a hassassin sectoral. It doesn't bring any benefits and I have access to all the hassassin units in a standard haqqislam list - in fact, why does the Hassassin sectoral exist?

Now I've opened up all the different unit options I've got a few questions:

Are doctors worth playing? If they are, would you go for a 'front line' doctor like a Djanbazan at 32 points but with msv2 and multiterrain or would a Ghulam doctor at 17pt hidden away and running some cheap 3 point nasmats be a better option?

Speaking of Ghulam....in terms of order generators, it seems like Naffatun are a better option at 13pts cheaper then the cheapest Ghulam and with flamethrowers. Are 'standard' Ghulam worth taking with inferior equipment and at a higher cost than standard Naffatun?

I fancy fielding an HMG, I bought a Djanbazan with HMG but I'm thinking about swopping him for a ragik. What do you think?

At 45pts, are Jannisaires with AP ammo worth playing at low points games? I bought one but I'm thinking I might swop him for a Hassassin Farzan with chain of command or forward observer since I don't see me using a 45pt model for a while yet (not until we get up to the 300pt games).

If I did take a Farzan, which is more usful? Chain of Command (takes over if Lt. is killed with no 'loss of lieu...leui.....lefftenant penalty) or forward observer?

Do Ghost:servant remotes generate orders?

I'm bound to have more questions, I'm getting in to Infinity now (despite some properly stupid quirks with it!)

Thanks

I'm seriously considering attending this now. I was going to be in Paris at this time so initially couldn't make it. However, as I intend to save for a masters and move back to London I think Paris is a luxury I can't afford right now. It just costs too much when you are there even when staying at friend's houses.

Sooooooo... anyone game for this? It's a shorter tournament than before, just a two 200pt list day event with three matches each and open gaming on the Sunday.
I doubt I'll go if no one from the club is interested.

Hey chaps, as we all know ETC is fast approaching and I think we've got some pretty strong teams this year and heading for a good showing!

I'm trying to get hold of the OG games venue in Wandsworth to potentially hold a practice day where we can have 4 teams playing round-robin for 3 rounds, using ETC matchups and conditions to give us some real life practice ahead of the tournament.

This post is to gauge interest!

Im potentially looking at the 9th or 16th June... Both ahead of the ETC list deadline of the 24th so we have time to tweak lists etc!

I don't for a second think that we can have all 16 players available from the 4 cross teams so after a period I will send this out to the semi wider world to get ringers etc to fill gaps/teams.

So please let me know if you are interested guys and I'll see if we can put something together and make it official tonight. As there won't be prize support etc we can probably do this for about £5 per player, or £10 if lunch were included... Let me know your preferred option and I'll make a decision from there.

Cheers

Guys

We've talked to some of you about this before and to drum up some cross fertilisation of club attendees both ways, I thought I would revisit this topic.

Tanelorn hold extended gaming days on one Sunday of each month. Normally this is the last Sunday of each month but due to outside influences such as tournament attendance, this can be moved about.

So I thought I would publish the list of proposed extended Tanelorn Club days where you can game from midday to 10pm.

May 20th
June 24th
July 29th
August 26th
September 30th
October 28th
November 25th
December 23rd

As you can see we have one coming up this SUNDAY. So please do come down if you fancy some extra WM/H gaming or even 40k!!

First "visit" to the club is always free.

Club location and more info can be found here

Okay. Some people have been forced to drop out of the slow grow due to missed game opportunities or hectic schedules. This is a shame... but I've been looking at my own diary and I will miss the 150 frame.

SUGGESTION:
People can play their league games up to the point of the tournament at any of the point levels. Meaning if you missed your 125 game, but manage to make the session where you can play 150 points, you could get two games in at once and have them count, so long as they are the points intervals you haven't played.

How do people feel about this? It would give a chance for some of those forced to drop out to have the game they missed and join back in. Also speaking from a totally selfish pov, it allows me to play my 150 pt game and my 200 pt game in the same evening.

Another point worth mentioning is that it would be great for people who missed the league but have the minis to field a 200 point force to still enter the tournament.

Greetings noble Charing Cross players!

Empress Ayn is celebrating her Red Jubilee this weekend and so there will be festivities, games, and tournaments to celebrate! Be a loyal comrade, show your pride and commitment, and join us at the Cross for a Warmachine and Hordes tournament.

(This announcement is a bit of a survey as well because we are unsure of the demand for a tournament on this 4 day weekend. So it will only take place if at least 8 people sign up. It will not be a Golden Thrall event unless 12 people sign up. Lastly it has a maximum of 16 players possible.)

What: Red Jubilee
When: Saturday, June 2nd, 2012 (11 AM registration; 11:30 AM dice fly)
Where: St. Christopher's Inn (161-165 Borough High Street, Southwark, London, UK, SE1 1HR)
Cost: £9 (includes lunch)

Format:
1. Bring 2 lists of 35 points with 7 points of reinforcements
2. Divide and Conquer
3. All other baseline SR2012 rules in effect
4. 16 players maximum - please sign up by replying at the Cross Forums thread. http://www.crossgamingclub.com/forum/sho...p?tid=2706

Prizes:
- The top 3 players will win Steamroller tournament coins.

Painting Contest:

This will be a Golden Thrall event if we get at least 12 players. Basically this means we will give out little trophies for the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd best painted armies at the event. See this webpage for all the details and pictures of the trophies: http://www.rankingshq.com/goldenthrall/

Sidebar:
Absolutely NO proxying (unless your case has been pleaded before the Devourer Wurm and he doesn't eat you). Conversions will be accepted on a model by model basis following Privateer Press' published conversion guide. All models must be assembled completely (i.e. no Warjacks/Warbeasts missing arms, wings, models falling off base, etc). Only Privateer Press models allowed (IK models are acceptable within reason). Painting not required, but highly encouraged.

Please feel free to email/PM Tom Hutchings or me if you have questions.
